Diocesan Group Accountant

You will be responsible for leading and managing the financial functions contained within the role responsibility including ensuring all financial reporting requirements and imperatives are delivered accurately and add value.  Statutory and management reporting information is a key part of the role to ensure statutory requirements are met.


Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key member of the Diocesan Finance Team, working with Diocesan staff, parishes, schools, agencies and clients we serve.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading Diocesan Financial Reporting
  • Consolidation and separate entity Reporting
  • Monthly Reporting and Budgeting
  • Financial Reporting and support to operating units
  • People Management
  • Accounting System Administration


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualified with Accounting qualification
  • 10+ years proven experience in senior accounting roles
  • Financial Reporting compliance under relevant accounting standards
  • Consolidation experience
  • Proven financial management and leadership skills
  • Experience in financial support roles to organisational operating units
  • Excellent analytical skills including modelling and advanced Excel skills
  • People management skills
  • Empathy with and understanding of the Catholic Church
